I bought deep red roses and wore my stupid hat
And aren't I going to look a git when I get knocked back?
One side of my brain knew straight away
This was a big mistake
The other side thought it was just great
She told her husband lies & turned up the worse for wear
She was like a teenager in her new underwear
We laughed when we heard the neighbours
Turning their TVs up loud
But people's hearts breaking makes a terrible sound
Does she have a heart?
Why should that be my concern?
Collapsing into bed, drinking far too much
Yeah right that's a real basis for love...
She left, I came up for air, I saw a moment's light
I deleted her from my phone and I paced the floor at night
I couldn't see her heart for all her grace and poise
Like a rose behind a wall of white noise
Does she have a heart?
Why should that be my concern?
